September 8/09 - PLSN Magazine honours MIDNITE HOUR Productions
PLSN.jpgProjection, Lights & Staging News (PLSN), the publication of record for the Lighting, Staging and Projection industries, has awarded MIDNITEHOUR Productions with a Hometown Hero award for all of Canada.

Being nominated as a PLSN Hometown Hero means that MIDNITEHOUR Productions has been recognized by its peers for excellence as a regional lighting equipment supplier.

As a regional winner, MIDNITE HOUR Productions is automatically a finalist in PLSN’s North American Parnelli Award competition for Best Regional Lighting Company of the Year.

This prestigious award program, established in 2001, has been referred to by NPR as “the Oscars of the event production industry.” This year’s ceremony will take place at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Fla. on Nov. 20, 2009.

“Regional lighting companies are the backbone of our industry and yet are often overlooked when it comes time for awards and honors,” said PLSN publisher Terry Lowe. “We established the Hometown Hero award as a way for actual working pros to acknowledge the best companies they work with.”

MIDNITE HOUR Productions’ services include video presentation and processing, LED lighting and scenic products, conventional lighting, audio equipment, drapery and softgoods rentals and services. The company has also posted a pretty cool video gallery of their work on www.midnitehour.ca!

“There really isn’t any higher honor for those who are working in the live event industry,” said Richard Cadena, editor of PLSN. “The Hometown Hero award is a very real case of companies recognized by a jury of their peers.”

Hometown Hero honorees, Cadena added, work for a living, and rarely have the luxury of a PR company to tout their accomplishments. “But the truth is that many events — from music festivals to private events to school and church functions — could not happen without them. It is an honor to be able to recognize their hard work and their very real achievements.”
